Eugene

 Eugene was the middle Wadlow child. He wanted to be like his oldest brother, Robert, taking part in his high school yearbook and going to the German club. He shared a plucky personality with his sister, Helen, and had an adventurous spirit that was all his own.

1922- Eugene is born in Roxana
1926- Eugene moves to Alton after living out west with his family
1931- Eugene goes on a vacation to Atlanta, Georgia
1931- Eugene and other boys from the YMCA go to a baseball game, where the St. Louis Cardinals played against the Cincinnati Reds
1933- Eugene visits West Plains, Missouri with Robert

1934- Eugene helps Helen and Robert run the soda stand
1936- Eugene goes to Rock Spring Park with fellow eighth graders of East Junior High and wins a race
1937- Eugene becomes eligible to join Alton High's basketball team
1937- Eugene wins a place on the Alton High honor roll
1938- Eugene and Helen are guests at a bridal shower at Main Street Methodist Church
