Uncle Cecil
Born on December 25th, 1894 in Valles Mines, Missouri, Cecil Earl Wadlow was Harold's younger brother. He earned a scholarship in 1911, which helped him become a mortuary assistant in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1914. He married Marguerite Ruebel on May 9th, 1917 and had Lois in 1918, Juanita in 1926 and Richard in 1932 or '33. In 1921, Cecil was one of the officers of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge. The beginning of July 1922 was when he opened Wadlow Mortuary. He designed the mortuary's second building in 1929 and became the vice president of Nebraska Funeral Directors in 1932. He enjoyed Robert's frequent visits throughout the '30s... and provided his coffin in 1940. In 1941, Cecil became the Master of Kadosh at the lodge and was a shriner by 1949. He divorced in the 1940s and on October 27th, 1949, he married young funeral director Irene Hall. They worked together at the mortuary and toured England in 1956. He took on Richard as a mortuary partner two years later, preparing him for a role he'd have until 1992. Cecil died on May 4th, 1967. His mortuary survives as Wadlow-Rozanek Funeral Home.
